How to Row

Hand Grip

Side View
Left hand slightly above and slightly astern of right hand.

Recovery
Note:
1. Wrist is still mostly flat in the feathered or horizontal blade position.
2. Handle is rolled out into the fingers after depressing the handle to release the blade from the water. There is a slight gap between handle and point.
3. The third joint of the fingers is most distant from the body.

Drive
Note:
1. Flat wrist in square or vertical blade position.
2. The handle is held in the base of the fingers and the top of the palm.
3. The second joint of the fingers is most distant from the body and halfway around the handle.
